How to Use Custom Style in Image Workspace

Learn how to use the Custom Style feature in Image Workspace to apply preset styles or upload your own reference images for style-guided generation.

What is Custom Style?

Custom Style gives you precise control over the visual style of your generated images. Instead of relying solely on text prompts, you can either pick from a curated set of preset styles or upload your own reference images — and Meshy will match the style in the output.

How to use it

  1. Open the Image Workspace.

  2. In the generation panel, find the Custom Style section.

  3. Choose your style source:

    • Preset styles — browse the built-in options and select one that matches your desired look.

    • Upload reference images — click the upload button and provide up to 9 images whose style you want to replicate. Supported formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WebP (max 20MB per image).

  4. Fill in your prompt as usual (describe the subject/content).

  5. Click Generate — your output will reflect the chosen style.

Tips

  • Reference images work best when they have a clear, consistent visual style — concept art, illustrations, and stylized game assets tend to give the strongest results.

  • You can upload multiple reference images (up to 9) to give the model a richer sense of your target style.

  • You can combine a preset style with a detailed prompt for fine-grained control.

  • Try generating multiple variations to find the best match before committing to a batch.

Limitations

  • Style transfer accuracy depends on how visually distinctive the reference image is — photorealistic photos may produce subtle style influence.

  • Custom Style is currently only available in Image Workspace — it does not apply to 3D generation directly.
