Workspace/UI Overview, and how to use and navigate it

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The Meshy AI interface is designed to make creating 3D models with AI intuitive and efficient. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the main workspace, based on the New Model screen.

1. Left Sidebar: Generation Settings

This is your control panel for setting up a new 3D model generation.

Section

Control/Field

Description

Input Mode

Image, Model, Remesh, Texture, Animate

Select your starting point. You can generate a model from an Image (as shown), from a text prompt (not explicitly shown but standard feature), refine an existing Model, Remesh (optimize) its geometry, apply an AI-generated Texture, or Animate it.

Image/Model Upload

Click, Drag & Drop Image

Upload your 2D reference image (e.g., JPEG, PNG) to transform it into a 3D model.

AI Model

Meshy 6 Preview

Select the version of the Meshy AI model you want to use for generation. Newer models often offer better quality or specific features.

Prompt/Pose

Multi-view, A/T Pose

Specific settings related to your input type. For example, if you're preparing a character for animation, you might set the A/T Pose. (Multi-view is not yet available for Meshy 6 Preview generated models)

Generation Name

Give your generation a name

A text field to enter a name for your model.

License

CC BY 4.0, Private

Choose the license for your generated asset. Private ownership is typically available on paid plans, while CC BY 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution) is often the default for the Free plan and requires attribution.

Symmetry

Off / Auto / On

Toggle to enforce or detect symmetry in the generated model, useful for characters or symmetrical objects.

Generate Button

Generate

Starts the AI generation process. Next to it, you'll see the estimated time (e.g., 1 min) and the Credit cost (e.g., 20).

2. Center Panel: 3D Preview and Model Information

This is where your generated model is displayed and reviewed.
