Why Can't I Upgrade or Downgrade My Plan?

Learn why upgrade and downgrade buttons may be unavailable when your current billing cycle has an unpaid balance, and how to resolve it in Meshy.

Overview

If the upgrade or downgrade buttons are missing from your subscription page, it may be because your current billing cycle has an outstanding unpaid balance. When a payment fails, Meshy's billing system is temporarily locked — plan changes cannot be processed until the unpaid amount is settled.

Why this happens

When a payment for your current billing cycle fails (for example, due to an expired card, insufficient funds, or a bank block), the billing system enters a locked state to prevent further changes. During this time, both upgrades and downgrades are unavailable.

How to resolve it

  1. Look for any outstanding payment notification and complete the payment

  2. Once the payment is successfully processed, the upgrade and downgrade buttons will reappear

If your payment continues to fail, see My Payment Was Declined — What Should I Do? for troubleshooting steps, or contact us at [email protected].

What happens after payment is completed

  • Upgrades take effect immediately after payment

  • Downgrades are scheduled — they take effect at the start of your next billing cycle

Important: downgrade before your cycle ends

If you need to downgrade your plan, you must submit the request before your current billing cycle ends. Once the cycle renews, you will be charged at your current plan rate for another cycle.

To check your renewal date:

  1. Under Overview, look for Next Bill — this is the date your current cycle ends and your next charge is scheduled
